Summary of Position

This role, at either our Dripping Springs or Central Campus, exists to provide leadership, strategic direction, and shepherding to the Connect & GuestXP Staff & Volunteers, for the purpose of creating a highly relational, welcoming environment that bridges our vision and mission into the Clear, Simple Path (assimilation strategy) that helps 1st time guests, regular attenders, and leaders move forward into community where they can belong, grow, heal, and serve. 

Primary Functions

  • Cast vision for excellence in Connections & GuestXP with an emphasis on welcoming, informing, and serving every guest on Sundays and for special events.

  • Create a Connect & GuestXP culture by providing leadership, strategic direction, and shepherding to Connect & GuestXP Volunteers, Emerging Leaders, and Coaches.

  • Create unified processes and pathways to manage campus leadership pipeline, recruit, onboard and train ministry volunteers, and connect people to Gateway thru Belong, Grow, Heal, and Serve opportunities. 

  • Oversee and lead events that assist with connections, assimilation, relational care, and celebration of guests, volunteers, and leaders.

  • Network and communicate clearly between ministry departments as well as outward facing campus communications (Campus Newsletters, Campus Social Media, Campus Web Page) in an effort to continue to help people take steps on the CSP (Clear, Simple Path). 

Secondary Functions

  • Manage departmental budget 

Desired Qualifications/Skills

  • A 4-year college degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in either vocational or volunteer ministry environment

  • Proven experience in leading volunteers and volunteer teams

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Detailed oriented and organized

  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, etc.)

Spiritual Criteria 

  • Must have an intimate and growing relationship with Christ

  • Must become a commissioned leader at Gateway Church (or be willing to if not currently commissioned)

  • Model standards and expectations of commissioned leaders at Gateway Church

Working Conditions and other information

  • Have the ability to lift 25+ pounds

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • I would also include under working conditions that this role requires them to travel to our other Gateway locations and events

  • Sunday through Thursday schedule with added responsibilities for holidays and special events as assignedRequired attendance at All Staff meetings

  • Easter- all hands-on deck for Saturday/Sunday services and events (See Holiday Policy in the employee handbook for more information)

  • Christmas- all hands-on deck for our Christmas services and events (See Holiday Policy in the employee handbook for more information)

  • Throwdown- all hands-on deck for Saturday/Sunday services and events

  • Annual All Staff Retreat- dates are subject to change but typically fall sometime in May

  • Annual Leadership huddle- dates are subject to change but typically fall sometime in August

  • Attend all functions that we require of our Commissioned Core (i.e. Leadership Community, etc.)
